Pod is a public art project for
Portland's Downtown Streetcar, installed at 10th and Burnside in downtown Portland,
Oregon.
The piece is kinetic and interactive.
When the counterweight at the bottom is pushed, the central vertical section swings back
and forth. The upper and lower sections swing and flex in different rhythms, affecting
each other, eventually returning to rest in the vertical position.
Thanks to David Bermudez, Warren Rosenfeld & Calbag Metals, Charlotte and Ogden Beeman, RACC, PDOT, Steve Lagerquist, and Briggy Thomas for their
extensive help on this project.
